The folks over at Auction House were launching a new business and wanted to showcase their huge array of antique collectibles with a new website. Built on WordPress, the site is built upon an adaptive web framework that reconfigures the layout based on screen width. Mobile and tablet users alike have a very similar experience as desktop users. Go ahead, open a new tab in your favorite “Standards based” browser, cough, Safari, Chrome, Firefox, cough… and reduce your browser window width. You’ll see the main feature banner reconfigure to fit the screen width and the nav, updates and info boxes shuffle to the bottom accordingly. Hurray for Media Queries and Standards based browsers!

Sargam Griffin needed a modern, elegant and accessible website that would be compatible with both the iPhone and iPad. I designed her site using WordPress as the content management system with a custom designed theme. Sargam’s beautiful artwork is now displayed in it’s full glory. The Press Democrat’s Celebrate Community website needed a clear focus for the community as well as the Celebrate Community Partners who make the program possible. Working with Press Democrat Marketing Director, Cindy Butner and her team, we laid out content, designed a layout to accommodate the new focus and successfully launched the new site. A family friend and former colleague of mine needed a professional website that would be easily updated. The new site features Jodie’s wonderful photography and lets the photo be the hero using a clean and modern layout. I was fortunate enough to have Jodie take 2-year photos of my little girl. This is the new and improved WordPress website for Glenn Fricker Construction, a Nothern California based general contractor specializing in residential construction and remodeling. I designed the initial website for GFC back in 2006 with no content management system. This time around the goal was to use a “cms” to “future proof” the website and make updating the site a lot easier. Visit the site here: glennfrickerconstruction.com.

The idea behind this brochure concept was to convey true life stories of the benefits of donating blood. Two images were placed on the first and last inside folds, and when opened, reveals powerful imagery of two strangers facing each other with the headline “Through a common bond you and I can save lives.” Good stuff. This image is a composite of several images shot at different exposures. Enhancments include: wrinkle-free bed spread, white carpet from mauve (I didn’t blame them), reflection removal, highlight and midtone balance and several places needed the casted shadows removed or diminished.
